Arkham Asylum for the Criminally Insane was founded by Amadeus Arkham is named after Elizabeth Arkham, his mother. Arkham has held many notable villains of Gotham including the Joker, Poison Ivy, the Riddler, Mr Freeze, Penguin, Harley Quinn, Scarecrow, and Two-Face.
